Proyecto fin de carreraJust a quick view of my work here at Helsinki University of Technology. Actually I'm working with two robots, Rollo and Rollotori, they have the same hardware and similar software. However there is a big different because Rollotori has four wheels to move, while Rollo is a ball shaped robot.

Rollotori
Mainly, my work is to develop a control system for Rollo's movement using tags, although I have two additional tasks: positioning and voice communication. It's difficult to reach all this goals in a few months but some colleagues could go on working about Rollo after me.
I have a lot of facilities here, it's really nice when people takes care of your work and offers you help and advices.

Rollo´s version 1 and 2
This robots are being develped for dissable people, in smart homes and using Assistive Technology. The aim is to help people with handicaps and contribute to the quality of life of its users: adis for personal mobility, care, protection and housekeeping aids. So the users of assistive technology are primarily people with disabilities or elderly people who has difficulties coping with some daily life matters.

Para los colegas, que luego me decis que no escribo en castellano y eso ...... Estoy trabajando con estos dos robots, son basicamente iguales en cuanto a configuración básica, pero se diferencian en el tipo de movimiento que hay que controlar. Ahora mismo hay que controlar la posición y movimiento de Rollo usando etiquetas, una cámara y posicionamiento dinámico por Bluetooth. La verdad es que el proyecto es bonito pero tengo mucho curro ;)) Es bonito trabajar en un proyecto destinado a mejorar la calidad de vida de la gente a traves de la tecnología. Probablemente estoy trabajando en lo que será en el futuro la verdadera domótica. No se trata de un hogar futurista, sino más seguro, más dinámico y eficaz y que nos ayude a vivir mejor.
