Great journey to the estonish capital cityLast Saturday Morning a big part of Jyväskylä crew went to Tallin. We were there until Sunday evening. We traveled with Viking Line, it takes three hours to go from Helsinki to Tallin, it's quite long but it's cheap. 24 € to go and come back on weekend is really nice price. And on weekdays is cheaper!!

Arriving Tallin with sunny weather
Like you are going to see in the next pictures the weather was great, really sunny, sometimes little bit windy but it was incredible for October.
Ian, Mathieu and Giampa.
We slept in Vana Tom Hostel, in the old city center, great area, close to the townhall square and the cathedral. We paid 15 € for one bed and breakfast, if you have Hostel International card you will save 1 €. I liked the hostel, we had 2 rooms, one with 9 beds for seven boys anf other with 6 beds for 5 girls.

The funny thing was that when we arrived to the hostel we realized about the third floor ;)) Giampa thought that the receptionist had two different jobs!!

We left the luggage in the hostel an walked around Tallin. The city center is small but so nice. Like Balbina said me you never feel alone though you are walking alone.

Tallin street
It's a pleasure walk along this paths, crossing Tallin from north side to south side.
Like you will know Tallin was part of URSS and still lots of people speak russian. Therefore is normal than the cathedral style is orthodox.

Tallin's cathedral.
We were also looking for a new and cheap restaurant to have dinner and Mathieu asked some girls, estonian girls of course.

Matti's bussines.
In my opinion the greatest buildings in Tallin are the towers, the medieval wall and the churchs. You can see almost everything in one day so it's not a bad idea to go Tallin in the morning and come back at night from Helsinki.

Medieval Wall
Finally we bought a bottle of wine and some beers and went to drink it in the towhall square, in the heart of Tallin.

Townhall square.
Alcohol in Estonia is really cheap if you compare with Finland. Cheapest bottle of wine in Estonia 2 €, in Finland around 5-6 €. Half liter strong beer in Tallin 0.5 €, in Finland 3 €.
Also most of the things are cheaper in Tallin than Helsinki, shampoo, showergel, clothes, etc....
Markus and Angela
At night we found a nice restaurnt close to our hostel. We ate there and the price was quite good. For one 0.5 liter beer, salad and main plate I paid about 10 €.

Waiting for the dinner, from left to right: Anni, Giampa, Jana, Mathieu, Gaëtan, Ian, Mirka, Marco, Angela and Markus. I ost Nathalie!!
Tomorrow more ok??
There are a lot of things to tell about Tallin ;))!!
