Suomenlinna with Snow

Sunday morning, afternoon or even evening??

On Sunday Patricia, the "Antonio"s and I went to Suomenlinna. I have talked before about this fortress, situated in Helsinki's bay.

Suomenlinna's harbour

Like you can guess the island was covered by the snow and the landscape was competely different than on September.

Antonio searching the skyline.

Mainly we went to visit a special event related with Christmas, something like a typical Christmas market that is organized every year there. But we were really disappointed about this joulukauppa, Christmas market, because wasn´t special and even interesting. Don't go there!!

So, at the end, we walked during one hour, highest temperature around 0 ºC, and then came back Helsinki city center.

But was a nice morning and afternoon or maybe I should say evening, because when we were returning by boat, around 3 PM, the sunset was arriving!! And the worst is coming!!

Suomenlinna beach??

Like Marco said me, Suomenlinna was first called Sveaborg by the Swedish due to they built it. Its actual name means Finnish castle.
